ID Type

Though a valid U.S. driver's license or state ID are our preferred methods of identification, additional forms of identification may be accepted when opening an account with EmigrantDirect. These forms must contain a photograph, personal description, issue/expiration date, and signature of the bearer. Acceptable forms of ID include:

U.S. Passport.
Armed Forces of the United States ID Card.
Valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card).

If you are using one of the above items as identification, you must also do the following to complete the application process:

Print out your confirmation page you receive after you submit your application.
Photocopy your documentation making sure your photograph, signature, issue date, and expiration date are clearly visible.
Write your confirmation number on the copy.
Fax both pages along with a cover page to EmigrantDirect, 1-866-877-2538, Attn: Account Review. Or, if you prefer, mail these to:

Fund Your Account

Please have a copy of your check in front of you because you will need to enter your bank's routing number and your checking account number.
